The Missions Ministry is all about engaging with people.
Where the term mission applies to people and places that are outside the U.S., the term community outreach applies to people and places here inside of Santa Clara. Both forms of engagement are important in our commission to build God’s kingdom.
Mexico Missions Trip
Our missions elder, Pastor Pat Novak, is finalizing plans for a missions trip to Mexico this summer (sometime in July). The destination is a town just about 90 minutes outside of Mexico City. If you are interested in playing a part in this mission trip or would simply like to learn more about what will be happening this summer, contact either Pastor Pat Novak or Jim Watts.
Details about the trip can be found on the Mexico Missions Trip page.
This year marks a full twelve years that our church has been filling shoeboxes to send to children in far off places. It is also our fourth year acting as part of the shoebox collection network.
Read more about our current shoebox activities, and consider joining in on the fun.
Annual Thanksgiving Outreach Luncheon
Each year, First Presbyterian Church of Santa Clara hosts a free Thanksgiving meal for people in our community. Open to all, this traditional Thanksgiving meal is served complete with turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed and sweet potato, and all the fixin’s. It all happens in the church social hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information about joining in on the feast or helping with the service, please contact the church office.
