The mission trip this summer is solidifying nicely. Here’s the information available thus far.
July 14 thru July 23.
The city of Toluca is the capital of the state of Mexico. It lies roughly two hours northeast of Mexico City, at an elevation of 7000 feet. We will fly into Mexico City and travel by private van to the city of Toluca. The San Bartolo neighborhood is on the outskirts of the city, and has many families who work at making bricks for the construction industry.
$900 to $1200 for the 10 day trip (which includes airfare).
A GoFundMe project has been created, for those wishing to provide financial support for the upcoming Toluca missions trip.
To express Jesus’ love to the residents of the San Bartolo neighborhood, an area very near the Christian community development center of Toluca, Mexico.
The mission is brought to us through the following organizations
- Vacation Bible School Program
- Community Service Building Project
Brothers and sisters of the Christian Anabaptist Mennonite Church of Toluca. Members of the church will host us in their homes during our stay. It will be a once in a lifetime cross-cultural experience in a safe environment with Christian families.
The following meals will be provided each day:
- Desayuno (breakfast at 7am to 9am)
- Comida (main meal of the day at about 2pm)
- Cena (evening light meal at 7pm to 9pm)
Meals will be prepared by the ladies of the church and our host families.
The daily schedule will include team prayer, work / service, touring local sights, meals, and rest.
Friday July 14th and Sunday July 23rd are travel days.
Thursday and Friday, July 20 and 21, we will be helping with a children’s workshop on peace.
Saturday, July 22, we will take a tour of the Teotihuacan pyramids.
- Each member of the trip is expected to have a valid passport which expires sometime after December 31, 2017.
