Shoebox Stories #2

Samaritan’s Purse is an international, evangelistic, disaster relief organization. Last year, FPC put together 126 boxes. These gift filled shoeboxes show Christ’s love along with children having an opportunity to participate in the discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. In 2016, FPC will increase its goal to 200. The Greater Silicon Valley will increase its goal to 29,498.

You read in the last shoebox story about Laduna, Fuji where idol worship was stopped through a witch doctor coming to Christ and being challenged to change. His grandson had received a shoebox and was part of the discipleship program. In a West African country, a pastor had been preaching Jesus for 21 years without anyone receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Operation Christmas Child (OCC) came and the pastor handed shoe boxes out to the village children. The local imam was convinced that this was God’s love. Young people began to gather at the pastor’s home where a church began. At least 29 churches have been planted in this country.
